More favourable travel insurance terms for credit card holders from 1 February 2016
UAB SEB gyvybės draudimas, in cooperation with ERGO Insurance SE Lithuanian Branch, will offer more favourable terms of the travel insurance to holders of such cards as Visa Business (credit), MasterCard Business, Visa Gold, Visa Platinum, MasterCard Standard, Mano Visa (credit) and all types of Visa Classic cards, except for the Visa consumer credit and the Visa Classic (debit) issued by AB SEB bankas.
More favourable terms of some insurance types will be offered from 1 February 2016
Holders of the above-mentioned cards will enjoy the below advantages:
- Medical and repatriation expences will include the additional cover – the cost of bringing the cardholder’s children under 18 years of age to home country, if upon occurrence of the insured event the cardholder’s children remain unattended by an adult, and the specified amount of daily allowance for medical treatment of the cardholder within the approved period at the inpatient medical treatment institution will be paid out;
- the list of insured events under the accident insurance was supplemented and includes 88 consequences resulting from the insured events (currently the list of insured events includes 29 consequences of the insured events), and a benefit to be paid in case of disability is included.
Additional advantages will be offered to holders of the below cards:
- personal liability insurance will be valid for the holders of MasterCard Standard, Mano Visa (credit) and Visa Classic cards, except for the Visa consumer credit and the Visa Classic (debit) cards. The total annual sum per one insured cardholder will make EUR 50,000, and for holders of the Visa Gold card – the sum insured will be increased up to EUR 80,000 (currently EUR 50,000)
- new cover for the holders of the Visa Gold and Visa Platinum cards under the personal liability insurance will be valid if a car is rented and an insured event occurs while travelling abroad, 50 per cent of the francize amount under the Casco Insurance will be paid up, and for holders of the Visa Platinum cards – one additional cover will be applied – costs of damage to the rented sports equipment will be covered
- for convenience of holders of Visa Gold, Visa Platinum, Visa Business (credit), MasterCard Business cards the insurance benefit under the travel delay insurance will be paid out if the public transport delay makes 3 or more hours (currently paid if the delay makes 4 and more hours), under the baggage delay insurance – if the baggage delay makes 3 and more hours (currently paid if the delay makes 4 and more hours), and the costs of any unplanned additional accommodation at the hotel up to 3 days (currently up to 2 days) under the missed connection insurance, however no longer than until the nearest departure time will be covered
- holders of the Visa Platinum cards will be paid the insurance benefit under the trip interruption insurance, if the trip is cancelled or terminated due to the cardholder’s health problems, close relative’s death or due to an event in his/her permanent place of residence, if the damage exceeds EUR 1,500

Note!
Current holders of the credit cards in relation with the above-mentioned amendments to the foreign travel will not be required to sign any new credit card agreements. More favourable travel insurance terms for the current holders of the credit cards will come into effect from 1 February 2016.
We kindly remind that the travel insurance for the holders of credit cards will be valid only in such case if your card is activated. Your card may be activated:
- on Internet Bank of AB SEB bankas
- at any ATM in Lithuania or abroad (by entering your PIN code)
- at any unit of AB SEB bankas.
