SEB Bank completing the restructuring of its sub-branch network: advisory role – strengthened, cash transactions – moved to self-service area
Implementing its new operating model, on December 2nd SEB Bank will complete the restructuring of its sub-branch network – sub-branches will offer advice on financial issues, whereas cash transactions will be move to and available at self-service areas.
The restructuring of the sub-branch network started five years ago, when the first financial advisory unit was opened. Today 90 per cent of SEB Bank’s sub-branches (26 out of 29) operate as advisory units, where customers can execute their cash transactions in self-service areas.
“Thereby we adapt to the changing customer needs and increased use of payment cards and the Internet bank, and popularity of other digital solutions, e. g. mobile app for payments or remote video advisory tool. Sub-branches will provide services that are of higher value for customers, therefore, we will be waiting there for customers willing to get detailed advice on saving, investing, mortgage lending, own business creation or any other financial issues,” says Vaidas Žagūnis, member of the management board and Head of Retail Banking Division of SEB Bank.
He says today the share of daily banking transactions that the bank customers – private individuals and businesses – execute on the Internet Bank, using mobile app and ATMs makes nearly 100%. Therefore, the need for cash transactions that are executed with the involvement of a bank officer, has been minimal. At three SEB Bank sub-branches in Vilnius and in Kaunas, where cash transaction services are still provided, customers, mainly companies, used to execute 50 cash transactions per day each, i. e. about 2.5 % of the total number of transactions executed at sub-branches.
SEB Bank is also offering a possibility to withdraw cash, free of charge, at cash counters of Maxima, Iki, Rimi, Senukai and other retail chain stores (when pays with SEB Bank payment card, and the settlement amount is not less than 5 euro). The amount that can be withdrawn within a single purchase is up to 100 euro, and it is not included into a monthly cash withdrawal limit.
