How to pay by card online securely?

To ensure secure online shopping by our customers, we recommend enabling the online card payment feature only when necessary. There are several options to enable the secure online card payment feature: on the Internet Bank, mobile app, by calling +370 5 268 2800 or by visiting the SEB bank branch.

To ensure a more secure online payment by card, we have joined international security programmes “Mastercard Identity Check” and “Visa Secure”.

Now, when paying for products or services in e-shops marked with the “Mastercard Identity Check” and “Visa Secure” logos, the Internet Bank page automatically opens and asks to enter your identification code and select your authentication tool – Smart-ID, PIN code generator or mobile signature. Having successfully entered the Internet Bank login data, the merchant’s website will be opened.

Why is it useful for you?

After you enter your Internet Bank login data, we will verify your identity in a few seconds and, having become certain that you are the true holder of this card, we will authorise your card payment. If the Internet Bank login data entered are incorrect, card payment will not be authorised and no funds will be debited from the account.

How does it work?

  1. Having selected a product or service in the e-shop marked with the “Mastercard Identity Check” and “Visa Secure” logos, enter your regular payment card details: card number, expiry date and the three-digit card security code CVC2 or CVV2.
  2. SEB bank’s secure online payment window will automatically open.
  3. Make sure that the information on payment for a product or service is correct, enter your Internet Bank login data (identification code) and select your authentication tool – Smart-ID, PIN code generator or mobile signature. Having successfully entered your Internet Bank login data, the payment order will be authorised.

Note

You will be able to pay in e-shops that are not members of the security programmes “Mastercard Identity Check” and “Visa Secure” as usual.

If you fail to log in to the Internet Bank, report the issue to the bank by calling +370 5 268 2800 or by visiting a SEB bank branch of your choice.
